Vermox (Mebendazole)
General information
Vermox is prescribed for treatment of worm infections. Usually these infections are cause by pinworm, whipworm, hookworm and roundworm. Its active component is medendazole. The drug works preventing worms from growing or multiplying in your body.
Directions
It is recommended to take the medicine as it was prescribed by your doctor. Take it with a full glass of water.
Precautions
It is recommended to follow your doctor's instructions, wash your clothing and towels.
Contraindications
Before starting your treatment with Vermox tell your doctor about all conditions you may have. Pregnant and breastfeeding women and children under 2 years old shouldn't take Vermox.
Possible side effect
Side effects can be the following: hives, swelling of your lips, tongue, closing of your throat, shortness of breath, abdominal pain, fever or diarrhea. If you have any of the side effects listed above you should contact your doctor.
Drug interaction
Vermox can interact with the following medicines: medicines for seizures (ethotoin, phenytoin, mephenytoin and carbamazepine). Tell your doctor about all the medicines you may use.
Missed dose
Take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time of the next intake just skip it and go back to your schedule.
Overdose
If you think you have overdosed the medicine seek emergency medical help at once. The overdose symptoms are vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain.
Storage
Store the medicine at room temperature below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
